Igor Moura is a Brazilian born rotoscope artist currently working out of various cities in Brazil.
There he has become renowned for his iconic “Retratos“ series depicting legends that have inspired him personally. His work has been receiving increasing attention with work recently displayed in some notable Brazilian galleries including MACC - Museu de Arte Contemporânea de Curitba; Galeria de Arte Brasileira de Campinas; Galeria Ponto de Fuga and El Museo Salvadoran, San Salvador.
Igor produces everything in his “Retratos“ series using his contemporary rotoscoping technique. Igor first began experimenting with the technique in 2003 and in 2007, he was commissioned by the City Government of Curitiba, Brazil, to produce a film, "Parasara", utilising it. Igor directed the filming and was head of art direction during the editing, where the live-action footage was traced-over frame by frame by a team of 9 artists. The project was completed in 2009 and received acclaim within the Brazilian film industry.
